where is the tutoring taking place?
The tutoring is year-round and takes place over Skype video conference. There will be one 30-45-minute-long weekly tutoring session. We will select a few tutors for our mission trip in the winter, when we will continue the tutoring in-person in Vietnam. At the end of the year, tutors will be able to apply to attend this trip!​​
what is the time commitment like?
Each week, we require tutors to have at least 1-2 hours to devote to the organization. These two hours will be signed off as community service that student tutors can then turn into their schools for credit. Each tutoring session will be 30 to 45 minutes long, and will take place on whichever day is available to the tutor.
do i need to know how to speak vietnamese?
No! We are going to be teaching students in 100% English. The class is immersive learning!
can i join project possible if i am not from the u.s.?
Yes! If you are in a different country, feel free to apply. However, keep in mind, we do teach in American English. If you aren't comfortable with American English, feel free to apply to our other committees (fundraising or publicity) so that you can still be a part of Project Possible.
what if i don't want to tutor, but still want to help?
There is a place in Project Possible for you! Being a Project Possible Team Member can also include being involved in social media, fundraising, merchandise, and curriculum planning. There is no requirement for tutoring, so you can apply to get involved in other ways!
how old do i need to be to apply?
You need to be above grade 8 to apply to Project Possible!
how many community service hours do i get?
Each team member gets a minimum of 17 community service hours from Project Possible from team meetings, independent work, and event commitments. This number may increase depending on the amount of events, meetings, and projects Project Possible Team Members commit to.
